The new blogs at Microsoft are a fascinating view inside the corporate facade. They allow direct access to the thoughts of the developers and programme managers in the company.

There are some exciting things happening inside Microsoft. There used to be an addage about the old USSR, something along the lines of 'it takes a long time to wake it up, but when you do...!'

Somehow I think the open source world is having the same effect on Microsoft - and it's just waking up to the fact that it needs to make Microsoft cool again, rather than a lumbering monopoly.

From what I've been reading it is a welcome change for the better...
